FloofStack Eighth Edition
Welcome to the eighth edition of FloofStack!
Whoa, is that a new Floofstack?? Yes, yes it is. Like the missing cat that re-appears safe and sound with nary a care in the world, Floofstack re-emerges.
So what did the cat drag in this time?

Writers and their cats
Mark Twain, aside from being an acclaimed writer, was also an avid cat lover. Did I say avid? I really meant extra avid. It’s reported that he had at least 32 cats throughout his life, and when he couldn’t take them with him on his travels, he rented kittens. Most famously, he rented 3 when he travelled to Dublin, New Hampshire for a summer (see below).

If Twain were still alive today, perhaps we might see a chain of ‘Twain’s Literary Cat Cafe’.

Researchers and their cats
According this recent piece of research conducted the Azabu University in Japan (where else), they conducted simple word association games with 31 adult cats and compared them to a similar level in toddlers. The study found that cats form associations between pictures and words about four times faster than toddlers.
In other words, the next time you’ve got writer’s block, try reading your article out to your cat. They won’t understand it any better than a toddler, but at least they’ll judge you more.
Community cats
And just as a round-up of community cats, here’s an update on some recent floofs and what they’ve been up to. In no particular order:
How’s your cats doing? If you got photos and stories you’d like to share, drop me a DM and get them featured in the next FloofStack!
Until next time!
