Hello my fellow cat people! Welcome to the third edition of FloofStack! Before we get going, I thought we could take a moment to welcome a new addition to the menagerie of Animal Stacks:
by , whose floofs were previously featured here. Alongside , I just thought it nice to celebrate that there can be a lovely corner of Substack where we can all just connect over the animals in our lives. If you’re new to FloofStack, welcome! To feature your favourite floofs here, please free to DM me on SubStack with your photos or you can directly email me at connect@scottko.com. Please send over 3-4 pictures of your floof(s) and — if you’re up for it — tell us a bit more how they came into your life.
We have a treat today from
: A triple header of floofs! This is Zira, the elder stateswoman of the house. She’s fought her way back from several health challenges and is still sassy enough to yowl and slap the young ‘uns when they annoy her. The sun rises and sets for her around her human daddy.
This is Fritzy. He’s a sleeping contortionist. When he’s not sleeping, he growls at delivery men like a dog. He’s super affectionate and he and his human mom like to stare into each other’s eyes while she pets him and tells him how handsome he is and how no one understands their love. This makes human dad roll his eyes.
Lastly, there’s Birdie. She’s an impossibly soft kitty who was given her name before we discovered that she is obsessed with cat-chirping at real birdies. She loves a wide variety of cat toys and she regularly plays with all of them. She’s also a certified kibble monster.
And here is a rare shot of the three of them together, like the fluffy Avengers who could save the world but only after food.
Next up, I want to show you Max, who — and I’m not making this up — has a registered name of Anatoly Demolition Ninja. He is a Tonkinese cat and was originally a stud for breeding purposes. Once he ‘retired’, he came into my care, and now he lives with my mother.
You know how cats choose their owners? Max and my mother were destined to be. He is the most steadfast of steadfast companions. He greets her when she gets home. He accompanies her when she’s in the garden. He steals food when no one’s looking. And he insists on sleeping under the blankets with her every single night.
When he was younger, he certainly lived up to his name and would tear up the neighbourhood but now… well… I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
Until next time!
The last photo - that tooth! Perfect!
Max! So quirky and loving. I love his bunny feet. Your mom looks like she’s in heaven.
Thanks for featuring my brood! I especially love the Avengers and meme ending ðŸ¤
